Cabin Hostess
Cabin Hostess Guidelines
Thank you for being willing to be a cabin hostess this year! Your main job is to offer experience, strength and love to those in your cabin!
Everyone will be asked to gather after the Friday night speaker meeting in the pavilion under the sign designating your cabin so everyone can meet their cabin mates. At this time, please remind your mates that lights go out no later than 11:00 p.m. and come on at 7:00 a.m. Camp Olympia is a smoke free property. Smoking is permitted in the designated smoking area only.
Feel free to decorate the outside of the cabin with simple decorations—lights, streamers, etc. Please me mindful of removing the decorations and only using non-permanent adhesives to hang decorations
We would love to see all the t-shirts from past conferences so are encouraging everyone who has one to wear it on Friday night.
Please contact those in your cabin prior to the weekend. Here are a few items to discuss:
-
Meet under your cabin sign in the pavilion after the speaker on Friday.
-
If you would like coffee/water in your cabin, coordinate who will bring the supplies (there are no tables in the cabins, only bunks).
-
Cabin decorations—what to do, when to decorate.
-
Remind them to follow the alphabetical snack list provided with their confirmation letter and to deliver those snacks to the registration room when they arrive.
-
Let them know that often people bring stickers, simple tokens, etc. to share with others. This is totally optional but can be a fun thing to do if anyone wants to.
-
Remind them of the theme so that they can bring a costume for the party/costume contest or come as they are and have fun. No costume is required.
-
Remind them to wear their old Heart to Heart t-shirt (if they have one) to the speaker meeting on Friday night.
-
Inquire if anyone has special requests/needs.
